Small screen actress Shabnam Faria made her mark on the silver screen with her debut film ‘Debi’ where she played the character ‘Nilu’.

She has another good news for her fans—she is going to get married next year. The actress will tie the knot with Harunur Rashid, a senior manager of a marketing agency.

“We have been friends for three years. Our families have set the date on 1 February. Please pray for us,” Faria said.

Before the wedding ceremony, a mehendi night and cultural programme are going to be held on 26 January. Haldi will take place the night before the main ceremony.

The marriage was supposed to take place two years ago.

“It was postponed due to the sudden death of Opu’s father. Again after one year my father died. That’s why the marriage got delayed by two years. Now that things have fallen into places a new date has been set,” said Faria.

The two met each other on Facebook. “We both had a number of mutual friends. I accepted his friend request. We used to chat and gradually became good friends. At some point we developed a liking for each other. We officially got engaged on 21 February this year,” she added.

Being asked about their honeymoon, the actress said, “I wish to go somewhere abroad. But we both will decide that after our marriage.”
