Global migration film fest launched in Cox’s Bazar
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has hosted the Global Migration Film Festival (GMFF), featuring cinema from around the world, in the beach city of Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh.
The event will be held between 10 and 18 December at the BIAM Foundation in the city, reads a recent press statement.
The press communique also says the GMFF is to feature the promise and challenges of migration, and the contributions of migrants to their communities.
The GMFF will cover over 30 documentaries and films.
“We are thrilled to host the GMFF in Cox’s Bazar this December. The festival is a major international event that testifies to this city’s importance as a frontline for migration issues,” said chief of mission Giorgi Giguri.
G Giguri also said, “We hope that audiences will come out to enjoy the films on [display] over this 8-day event.”
