Music director Emon sent to jail

A Dhaka court on Thursday sent music director Shawkat Ali Emon to jail in a case filed under Information and Communication Technology(ICT) act.

Metropolitan magistrate Aminul Haque passed the order when Emon was produced before the court in the afternoon.

Court sources said, Ramna thana police produced Emon before the court seeking order to send him to jail.

After hearing, the court rejected the bail petition filed by Emon’s lawyer and gave order to send him jail.

Police arrested Emon from his Bailey Road residence under Ramna police station in the city early Thursday as his wife Jinat Kabir Tithi filed a case against him under ICT Act.

Tithi lodged the case with the police station on August 18 alleging that her husband released nude pictures and video footages of young girls on website and Facebook after snapping and recording those secretly.
