National award goes to Ferdous, Mousumi, Mim

The full-length feature film, ‘Brihannala’, directed by Murad Parvez has been chosen as the best film for 2014 while actor Ferdous, actress Mousumi and Mim have won the National Film Award, says a press release of the information ministry.

The handout, announcing the names of the awardees, was signed by information secretary Mortuza Ahmed on 24 February.

Ferdous won the best actor award for his role in ‘Ek Cup Cha’ while Mousumi and Mim jointly bagged the best actress award for the film ‘Tarkanta’ and ‘Jonakir Alo’ respectively.

Besides them, 25 other artistes have been picked for the National Film Award-2014 in 26 categories in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the country's film industry.

The awardees are: lifetime achievement - Syed Hasan Imam and Rani Sarker, best film - ‘Brihannala’ produced by Murad Parvej, best documentary - ‘Gariwala’ produced by Mohammad Ashraful Alam alias Ashraf Monir, best director- Jahidur Rahman Anjan for ‘Meghmallar’, best actor Ferdous for ‘EK Cup Cha’, best actress- Mousumi for ‘Tarkanta’ and Bidya Sinha Mim for ‘Jonakir Alo’, best side actor - Ezaz Islam for Tarkanta, best actress in a supporting role- Chitra Lekha Guho ‘Ekattarer Ma Janani’, best actor in a negative role - Tariq Anam for ‘Desha The Leader’, best actor in a comic role - Misha Sawdgor for ‘Alpo Alpo Premer Galpa’, best child actor - Abir Hossain Angkon ‘Baishamya’, best child actress (special award)- Marzan Hossain Jara for ‘Meghmallar’, best music director - Saim Rana for ‘Nekkabarer Mahaprayan’, best singer male - James for ‘Desha The Leader’, best singer (female) - Runa Laila for ‘Priya Tumi Sukhi How’ and Momtaz for ‘Nekkabarer Mahaprayan’, best songwriter- Masud Pathik for ‘Nekkabarer Mahaproyan’, best lyricist- Belal Khan for ‘Nekkabarer Mahaprayan’, best storywriter - Murad Parvej for ‘Brihannala’, best cinematography - Saikat Nasir ‘Desha The Leader’, best dialogue - Murad Parvej for ‘Brihannala’, best editor- Towhid Hossain Chowdhury for ‘Desha The Leader’, best art director - Maruf Samurai for Tarkanta, best photographer - Mohammad Hossain Jemy for ‘Baishamya’, best sounder - Ratan Pal for ‘Meghmallar’, best costume and decoration - Kanak Chanpa Chakma for ‘Jonakir Alo’ and best makeup artsite - Andur Rahman ‘Nekkabarer Mahaproyan’.
