Filmmaker Dipankar Dipon, who made a dazzling debut with 'Dhaka Attack' in 2017, has announced his second film.

The title of the film is 'Do or Die', said Dipon in a press briefing at Biswa Sahitya Kendra in the city on Wednesday.

He added that the project is a biopic based on a liberation war hero, retired flight lieutenant Shamsul Alam Bir Uttam.

During the 1971 liberation war, Shamsul took part in the ‘Operation Kilo Flight’, the code name of the first unit of Bangladesh Air Force.

Shamsul Alam said he felt honoured for the film. ''People know nothing about Operation Kilo Flight now. This is a matter of great joy that people would learn about such a significant operation through this movie,'' he added.

In the press conference, information minister Hasanul Haq Inu unveiled the poster of the film as chief guest. Shamsul Alam Bir Uttam was also present there.

Besides, Bir Uttam Akram Hossain, Bir Uttam Bajlul Alam, Bir Uttam Shahbuddin, Bir Pratik sergeant Nurul Haque, corporal Md Akhtar and others also graced the occasion.

Inu said, ''Dipankar Dipon’s 'Dhaka Attack' was a huge success. This time, he is going to make a thriller on the liberation war. I wish him and his team best of luck for the film.''

Three Wheelers Limited and Main Square Corporation will jointly produce the film.

Director Dipon said this action-based commercial film will be a bigger project than his prebious one, ‘Dhaka Attack’. ''Production house Main Square Corporation offered me the film. Later, we started doing research on the project,'' he said.

Responding to a question, Dipon said, ''The research work is still going on. Hopefully we will be able to shoot in mid 2018.''
“Names of actors will be announced around one month before beginning the shoot,” he added.
