‘Padma Patar Jol’ doing well
Filmmaker Tanmoy Tansens’s much-anticipated screen venture, ‘Padma Patar Jol’ has garnered much appreciation from the moviegoers.
The Mim-Emon starrer film that released in 26 theatres across the country is having positive feedback in the box office, said cast and crew of the film. They think the Eid special film could have done much better if it had been released in more theatres.
The cast and crew have been visiting the theatres since the first day of the film’s release.
According to actor Emon, visiting theatres is part of his Eid celebration.
“The moviegoers in Dhaka are appreciating our work exceptionally well. Wherever we went, people told us how much they enjoyed the film,” said Emon.
Mim, female lead of the film, was also part of the theatre-touring team. She said that the team has planned to visit the theatres out of Dhaka from next week.
“We could not visit the theatres out of Dhaka due to incessant rain this week. But, the team is eager to get the feedback of the film out of Dhaka,” Emon chimed in.
General secretary of Bangladesh Film Exhibitors' Association Mia Alauddin said, “Although ‘Padma Patar Jol’ was screened in fewer theatres than the other two Eid releases this year, the film is doing relatively well.”
Other than the theatres, the film is being screened in various stages and auditoriums around the country as well. Screenwriter of the film Latiful Islam said they are screening the film on their own initiative in many places.
This kind of screening will continue till 25 July, and will be extended if the audience demands, he added.
