Coronavirus: Global death toll reaches 47,232

The global death toll from COVID-19 disease caused by the coronavirus jumped to 47,232 on Thursday, reports UNB.

It has so far infected 935,581 people around the world, according to worldometer.

Of them, 693,073 are currently being treated with 35,478 being in serious or critical condition.

So far, 194,276 people have recovered.

On Wednesday, Bangladesh reported its sixth coronavirus death and three new cases. The country has so far 54 confirmed cases.

Coronavirus, first reported in China in December last year, is affecting 200 countries and territories around the world and two international cruise ships.

The World Health Organization on 11 March declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic.
