National Zoo shut down for visitors

The government has shut down the National Zoo in Dhaka for the visitors to contain the spread of coronavirus, reports UNB.

“The zoo will remain closed from Friday till 31 March,” said a press release of the fisheries and livestock ministry.

Bangladesh on Friday announced the detection of three new coronavirus patients, raising the number of such cases in the country to 20.

The country’s first death from the coronavirus was recorded on 18 March.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the coronavirus or COVID-19 has reached 10,049 globally as of Friday, according to worldometer.

The World Health Organization on 11 March declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic.
