Merry Christmas

Christians around the world celebrate today with fervor and festivity, with the commitment to peace and justice. This is a day of universal joy to be shared with all mankind. The message of Jesus is one of brotherhood, love, tolerance and kindness. Christmas is here again, with the call for harmony and close ties.

Christmas is a significant day in Bangladesh. Jesus Christ is a respected one among all mankind, regardless of religion and faith. He has left behind an example of service towards humanity.

This year there has been a spate of violence before Christmas. Certain priests have been threatened. This is a matter of concern. Security measures have been taken. The persons who have issued the threats must be caught and punished.

Jesus Christ had to suffer for his role in taking mankind towards the path of truth and welfare. But he never deviated from his path. He did not call for revenge, but offered unconditional forgiveness. He wanted to carry the burden of all humankind on his own shoulders.

Let the message be spread against all divisions and to uphold harmony and love. Let us devote ourselves to serving mankind. This can be done by imbibing the teachings of Christ. We extend our sincerest greetings to our Christian brothers and sisters.
