Buses facilitated with free internet connectivity have been launched in Dhaka.
Communication Minister Obaidul Quader and Information and Communication Technology state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak at a programme at Farmgate in Dhaka on Thursday inaugurated the "WiFi-facilitated" bus services.
Initially, 20 buses of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) equipped with the modern facility will be plying the Motijheel-Uttara route.
Besides getting internet facility, commuters can also track the movement of the busses as vehicle tracking system has been installed in the busses.
State-owned cellular phone operator Teletalk has set up 3G wireless routers in the buses, which will enable 40 people to avail the free internet service at a time.
