Facebook invited to open Bangladesh office

Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) and Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) invited Facebook authorities for launching its regional office in Bangladesh. They also asked to introduce Facebook in Bangla and make education friendly tools for Bangladeshi users.
The officials of BCS and BASIS invited Facebook head of policy programme Lisa Foster during the visit of Facebook headquarters at Silicon Valley in California of the USA on 17 May.
Information and communication technology state minister Zunaid AhmedPalak along with the officials of BCS and BASIS is now visiting the IT hub of the US.
BCS president AHM Mahfuzul Arif and Basis president Shamim Ahsan, BCS director Ali Ashfaq, Daffodil group chairman and Dhaka chamber former president Md Sabur Khan, BASIS secretary general Rassel T Ahmed called on Lisa Foster.

Zunaid Ahmed said that online payment gateway will be open in Bangladesh if Facebook started its work officially in Bangladesh.
The state minister said that now there are 70 lakh Facebook users in Bangladesh. The number of users will be reach 10 crore by 2021.
Basis organised US-Bangladesh Tech Investment Summit at Silicon Valley in California on 16 and 17 May.
Bangladeshi organisations in the summit proposed United States investors to invest in several sectors of Bangladesh.
