PayPal to be launched soon in Bangladesh

State-owned Sonali Bank has signed an agreement which will allow PayPal to start its services in Bangladesh. A deputy general manager of the bank signed the contract which was received and accepted by the PayPal office. This has caused great incentive to the people involved in freelance outsourcing. A few freelancers shared their views on PayPal, while they wait for the company to officially launch their services in Bangladesh.

This is a grand medium of receiving payments

Although we have heard such news before, this time we have been assured that it is true. This is a great news for freelancers of this country, since we are about to receive a grand medium of receiving payments. However, I do not know how much fee PayPal will charge. Now, I use Payoneer Mastercard and Wire Transfer to draw payment through my bank account. If PayPal charges a higher fee then I will continue using Payoneer. PayPal is the most popular source of receiving money and is accessible in every country. It will also be of great use, to transfer money for online purchases. A few days ago, I posted a painting on an American website where artists can sell their paintings, but PayPal was the only method of receiving the price.

A blessing for e-commerce entrepreneurs

PayPal is a simple, secure and highly popular medium for completing money transactions. Foreign buyers feel comfortable using PayPal but when we inform them that the service is not available in our country, they opt to do their business in neighbouring countries. Even if the agreement is signed, my client has to search for a third payment system which he may not feel comfortable using. The services we currently use are relatively expensive and time consuming I think services of PayPal will put an end to such problems. International clients will increase and remittance will multiply.

Shopping will become easy

The process of money transfer will be much easier because of PayPal. Currently I pay fee to receive money directly from the bank, but once PayPal arrives I will be able to receive the money directly and conceding a comparatively lesser fee. Foreign buyers will no longer face a problem for transferring money and online shopping will also be made easier. PayPal is coming through bank, now we wait to know out what the conditions will be.

Lack of PayPal service creates a negative impression
Shah Imraul Kais

There are many sites that are useless for business without the services of PayPal. It creates a negative impression for many international consumers, when they realise PayPal services are not offered in our country. PayPal has a large network which means many products can also be bought easily from other countries. Now, we have to wait and see what type of model PayPal brings to start their services in Bangladesh.
