BJMC held by Rahmatganj in Fed Cup

Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society held Team BJMC to share the match points playing 1-1 in their Group-D match of the 16-team Federation Cup football tournament at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday

After the day’s result, Rahmatganj played out two successive draws in the league to collect unbeaten 2 points from two matches as they earlier denied Mohammedan SC by 2-2 in the tournament opener at the same venue on Friday last.

After the barren first half in the day’s match, Nigerian midfielder Samson Illiasu broke the dead lock in the 64th minute for BJMC by a header from the middle of the box off a curved free kick pass of midfielder Abdullah Parvez, 1-0.

Rafiqur Rahman Mamun levelled the score for Rahmatganj at the 89th minute of the match taking a shot from the box that was a rebounder of BJMC goalie Arifuzzaman Himel.

Midfielder Didarul Alam curved a cross from the right flank, goalie Himel fisted away the ball to clear, but dropped in front of Mamun who took the shot, 1-1.
