I'll work for deprived children lifelong: Mushfiq

Bangladesh's test cricket captain Mushfiqur Rahim has pleged that he would work for the underprivileged children until his last 'breath'.

“I will work for the deprived children lifelong,” he said on Saturday.

Mushfiqur Rahim said this moments before taking iftar with a group of underprivileged children at the country office of ActionAid Bangladeh, an international non-government organisation (INGO), in the city’s Gulshan area.

Mushfiq, a middle order batsman, called on the affluent people to come forward to help the underprivileged children in the society to make their lives better.

Actor Suman Patwary was also present among many other guests at the iftar party.

Speaker at the iftar party said nearly two million children have been living in slums and on streets across the country.

Happy Home, an abode for unprivileged children, is financed and organised by ActionAid Bangladesh. There are five such homes across Dhaka that house 150 deprived children.
