A late order cameo of Sixers’ number eight batsman Sohail Tanvir helped them post an imposing total of 180 runs in their 20 overs against the Rajshahi Kings in the 29th match of Bangladesh Premier League 2019 on Friday.

Earlier, Rajshahi skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz won the toss and invited Sylhet to bat first at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

Sylhet opener Liton Das (24 off 13) provided them a flying start but could not last long.

Their England recruit Jason Roy played an aggressive innings of 42 runs off 28 balls with the help of four 4s and two 6s while Afif Hossain made 28 off 29.

But it was the late burst of Sohail Tanvir that ensured the imposing total of Sylhet. He hit 23 off 10 with four 4s.

In terms of wicket, Rajshahi’s Mustafizur was the most successful bowler, he picked up two wickets but he gave away 43 runs in his four overs.

Kamrul Islam Rabbi, Arafat Sunny, Ryan Ten Doeschate and S Prasanna picked up one wicket each.

Both the teams have played eight matches each in the ongoing BPL.

In the previous match, the Kings lost by six wickets to Chittagong Vikings while Sylhet Sixers lost to Khulna Titans last match by 21 runs.

A total of 10 matches will be held at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
