Bangladesh cricketers join hands to fight coronavirus
The Bangladesh national cricket players have decided to donate half of their monthly salary to help fight coronavirus.
There are 17 players who have a central contract with the board while there are 10 others who have represented the country in different formats over the last three months and they will do the same as well.
For an example, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is not a centrally contracted player, but he did play in March. So he will get Tk 425,000 from the board for this month, as per his grade. He will donate Tk 212,000 to the fund.
The total amount will be around Tk 31 lakh, expect the cricketers. But they are still not sure which government organisation they would donate the money to.
Tamim Iqbal, one of the players who initiated the move, said, "We can win this battle if everyone does his part."
