Shakib Al Hasan is returning to practice before the ban against him is lifted. The star cricketer will begin practice at his own initiative from September at BKSP. BKSP cricket advisor Nazmul Abedin confirmed this to Prothom Alo on Friday evening.

Nazmul Abedin said, “Shakib will come back towards the beginning of September. He will practice at BKSP as there are different sorts of facilities and coaches here. There are coaches outside of cricket too, who can help him with his fitness. He will practice there, that’s what he told me.”

Shakib has been out of the game since October.

Bangladesh’s star all rounder made the mistake of failing to report to the ICC anti-corruption unit about match fixing offers.

The one-year ban which was imposed on him in this regard will end on 29 October.

He will have to prepare himself to return to the game after that. That is what Shakib Al Hassan, once a top all rounder in all three formats of the game, plans to do at BKSP.

Shakib is presently in the US where he has been staying with his family since the coronavirus outbreak. He recently became a father for the second time.
