Kings to face Abahani in final

Bashundhara Kings reached final of the Independence Cup Football when they came from behind beat Bangladesh Police Football Club by 2-1 goals in the second semifinal on Tuesday at Birshreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka, reports BSS.

The win saw that the Kings will play against Abahani Limited, Dhaka in the final on 18 December at the same venue.

Earlier, Abahani Limited got the ticket of final defeating Saif Sporting Club by 2-0 goals in the day’s first semi-final held at the same venue.

In the day’s match, Brazilian defender Danilo Augusto scored for Police FC while midfielder Mohammad Ibrahim and defender Yeasin Arafat netted one goal each for the Kings.

Danilo Augusto put Police FC ahead early in the 8th minute while Ibrahim restored the parity for Kings in the 30th minute of the match.

Yeasin sealed the victory for Kings scoring the second goal in the 118th minute of the match.

Earlier, Bangladesh Police Football Club reached semi-final by beating Sheikh Russel Keira Chakra Club by 1-0 in the third quarterfinal while star-studded Bashundhara Kings dumped ten men Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 4-0 goals in the fourth quarterfinal match.
