Cricketer Shahdat, wife sued over torturing housemaid

Bangladesh national cricketer Shahadat Hossain has been sued allegedly for torturning his domestic help in Dhaka city's Pallabi area.
A case was filed with Mirpur model police station on early Monday, against pacer Shahadat and his wife Nitto Shahadat.
A journalist named Mojammel Hossain filed the case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act 2000.
Shangkar, sub-inspector of Mirpur police station, confirmed the news.
Earlier, locals spotted Mahfuza Akhter Happy, 11, the housemaid of Shahadat’s residence, at "Journalist Residential Area" in Pallabi of the city.
Informed, a team of Pallabi police recovered the injured girl from the area around 9:30 pm.
The victim claimed that Shahdat Hossain and his wife tortured her.
Later, the victim was handed over to Mirpur model police station.
Sub-inspector Abdus Salam of Mirpur model police station confirmed the incident and said they sent the victim to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for treatment.

Earlier, Shahadat Hossain filed a general diary with the police station on Sunday afternoon as the girl went missing on that day.
