Japan govt scholarship now open for Bangladeshis

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan has invited Bangladeshi applicants to apply for scholarship which will remain open until 22 May, according to UNB.

The government of Japan has been offering 'MEXT' scholarships to foreign students who wish to study at Japanese universities, colleges and schools in various academic fields.

Categories of the MEXT scholarship 2020 (https://bit.ly/2vFXAwC) are research students (Masters and PhD), undergraduate students, specialised training school students and college of technology students.

Japan has been offering scholarship to over 4,000 Bangladeshi students since the year of 1955, before the independence of Bangladesh.

In 2018 alone, more than 100 Bangladeshi students received this government-funded scholarship and are now studying in Japan on various different academic fields, said the Japanese embassy in Dhaka.

The scholarship application opens twice a year in May (embassy recommendation) and October (university recommendation).
