Number of GPA-5, pass rate increased in HSC

A total of 41,807 students obtained GPA-5 in the HSC examinations while the number of GPA-5 was 25,562 in the last year. Some 5,479 students secured their GPA-5 in madrasa and vocational examinations this year.

As many as 71.85 per cent students have passed in the HSC examinations under the general board while the rate is 88.56 per cent for the madrasa board and 82.62 per cent for vocational board.

The percentage was quite low in the last year as only 68.55 per cent students passed the HSC examinations.

Earlier in the morning education minister Dipu Moni and chairpersons of all the boards handed over the results to prime minister Sheikh Hasina at 10:00am in the morning.

In total, 988,172 candidates out of 1,336,629 students passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations. The pass rate is 73.93 per cent.
