Young artists’ works displayed in AFD art show

A six-day group painting exhibition, ‘Sublime Beauty of Lands and Rivers’, articulating serene beauty of riverine Bangladesh, is now open at the La Galerie of Alliance Francaise de Dhaka.

Organised jointly by Alliance Française and Queenies’ Art, the art show was inaugurated on Friday evening by professor Abdul Mannan as chief guest.

Eminent artist professor Jamal Ahmed and sculpture Ferdousi Priyabhashini were also be there as special guests, says a press release.

The exhibition is an outcome of the art camp, coordinated by Queenies Art at Bishwo Shahitto Kendro from 14 to 16 November, 2015.

The participant artists of the camp are mainly young and they are Abdul Mannan, Nasim A Nadvi, Nasima Khanam Queenie, Laila Sharmeen, Shameem Subrana, Ashraful Hasan, Uttam Kumar Roy, Azmeer Hossain, Anisuzzaman Mamun, Reza K Chowdhury, Istiaque Talukder, Abdullah Al Bashir, Shohag Parvez, Shahnoor Mamun, Md. Mehedi Hasan, Zahangir Alom, Sultan Istiaque, Sourav Chowdhury and Fahmida Khatun.

The art works displayed in the exhibition focuses on natural beauty, six seasons, landscape, mountainscape, rural beauty and greenery, magnificence of nature, serene environment, cityscape, underprivileged people of different professions, varied features of bucolic, urban and riverine life and more of Bangladesh.

The artists are said to be intense observers of their surrounding ambiances and they meticulously projected them.

The exhibition is open to all from 3:00pm to 9:00pm from Monday to Thursday and from 9:00am to 12:00pm and 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Fridays and Saturdays until 20 July.
