DU extends shutdown, Pahela Baishakh festival suspended

The Dhaka University authorities have shut down all of its offices till 11 April to contain the spread of coronavirus infection.

However, according to a press statement on Thursday, the emergency services of the university will be exempted from the purview of the closure.

The authorities urged its students and officials to maintain social distancing.

It also postponed celebration of Pahela Baishakh on the campus, said the press statement signed by Mahmud Alam, director of the university’s public communication wing.
