BUET professor Ali Asgar dies

Noted Scientist Ali Asgar, also former professor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and former chairman of Kendrio Khelaghar, died of a brain hemorrhage at the United Hospital in the city in the early hours of Thursday.

He was 82, family sources said.

He left behind his wife, two sons and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.

He was buried at Uttara sector-4 graveyard in the capital following his Namaz-e-Janaza after Asr prayers today.

Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) president Mujahidul Islam Selim and party’s general secretary Mohammad Shah Alam expressed deep grief and sorrow at the death of Ali Asgar.

In a condolence message, they prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
