The education ministry has asked authorities of all types of madrasas including residential and non-residential ones to remain shut unit the further notice is issued.

However, orphanages will remain out the purview of this order. The technical and madrasah education division on Tuesday issued a notification in this regard to curb the rising trend of Covid-19 infection.


Although the country has been going through a weeklong lockdown since Monday, it is learnt some residential and non-residential madrasas in different places of the country still remain open, which pose a risk, the notification said.

Earlier on 29 March, the prime minister's office had issued a 18-point directive to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.

According to one of the directives, all educational institutions and coaching centres will remain closed.
