Rajshahi University (RU) administration has issued a set of health protection directives to protect its people from Covid-19 infection, RU sources said on Thursday night.

RU authority urged all its teachers, students, officers and employees to follow the directives, including wearing masks and receiving vaccines, in the campus to prevent the virus spread, reports BSS.

All have been asked to maintain health rules, including taking double dose vaccines, as directed by the government. All the first-year students have been asked to take at least single dose vaccine.

Meanwhile, academic activities, including classes in-person, in the university are going on at present since 21 October last year.

The university authority also opened the students' dormitories for the convenience of the students. The hall authorities set up hand sanitization basins at the entrance point for the students.

Vice-Chancellor (VC) professor Golam Sabbir Sattar said they have cancelled the scheduled summer and winter vacations to recoup the academic losses.

The public varsity has launched an inoculation campaign aimed at bringing its students under the first dose and second dose Covid-19 vaccination.

It has also opened a 24-bed Covid-19 isolation room at the medical centre to deal with any emergency situation.
