SSC results to be published after Eid

The results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations will be published after Eid-ul-Fitr as the education boards across the country have almost finalised the results.

To have a preregistration, a candidate has to send SMS to 16222 as follows: SSC (space) Board (space) Name (First three letters of name) Roll (space) Year.

Mahbub Hossain, secretary of the education ministry’s secondary and higher education division, said it would not be possible to publish the results before the Eid.

This year, the education boards have decided to publish the results through mobile phone SMS upon preregistration.

A preregistration process started yesterday (Monday), Dhaka Education Board’s senior system analyst Monjurul Kabir told Prothom Alo.

“Those who will preregister will get results first through mobile phone SMS. The results can also be gotten through the mobile SMS by applicant as earlier,” he added.

To have a preregistration, one has to send SMS to 16222 as follows: SSC (space) Board (space) Name (First three letters of name) Roll (space) Year.

Every single SMS will cost Tk 2, he added.

This year’s SSC and its equivalent examinations under 10 education boards began across the country on 3 February.

As many as 20,47, 779 students including 10,24,363 males and 10,23,416 females participated in the examinations this year.

The results of the SSC and its equivalent examinations were supposed to be published in the first week of May, but it could not be possible due to coronavirus outbreak in Bangladesh since 8 March.

Earlier education boards said the SSC results and its equivalent examinations would likely be published within May.

Asked about the matter, Dhaka Education Board chairman M Ziaul Haque said once the government gives the permission, the results will be published anytime.
