The authorities of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) on Friday announced the closure of the university until 13 December and asked the students to leave dormitories by 4:00pm today.
The decisions were taken at a meeting of the university syndicate, the highest decision making body of the university, in the morning.
KUET chancellor professor Quazi Sazzad Hossain informed newspersons of the matter.
The syndicate meeting resumed for the second day in the morning over the death of KUET professor Md Selim Hossain. The meeting was convened on Thursday afternoon but was ended without any decision.
Additional police force has been deployed on the campus after the meeting resumed at 10:00am.
