India offers scholarships for Bangladeshi students

Indian High Commission in Dhaka has announced scholarships for meritorious Bangladeshi students to pursue various courses in India at the undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD levels, except medicine, for the academic session 2018-19, reports UNB.

Over 3,000 ICCR scholarships have been granted to Bangladeshi nationals by the government of India till date.
Applicants should be minimum 18 years of age by July 2018, said the Indian High Commission in Dhaka on Thursday. All students will have to stay in the hostels.
Bangladeshi students can apply for scholarships under schemes - Bangladesh Scholarship Scheme (for undergraduate courses including engineering, postgraduate courses and PhD/post-doctoral courses), India Scholarship Scheme (for undergraduate courses excluding engineering, postgraduate courses and PhD/post-doctoral courses).
Candidates are required to have proficiency in English and should have secured minimum 60 per cent marks or GPA 3 out of GPA 5 in the qualifying examination.
ICCR has developed a portal exclusively for the benefit of the aspiring students who may log on URL https://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in and create individual login ID and password before submitting the applications online.
The last date of submission of online application forms on the portal (https://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in) is 20 January.
The date and venue of English Proficiency Test (EPT) which will be of 30 minutes duration, and date and venue would be intimated in due course.
