A seminar on youth's role in ensuring quality education was held at Rajshahi University (RU) on Saturday.

World Linkup, a volunteer organisation of the university working to achieve the United Nations-determined 17 sustainable development goals, has arranged the seminar at the university's Shaheed Minar Muktamanchaw at 5:00pm.

Bangladesh Bank former governor Atiur Rahman addressed the seminar as discussant with World Linkup president Shahaduzzaman Shishir in the chair.

Addressing the programme Atiur Rahman said that the youths are inextricably involved with the country's history and tradition.

"The role of the youth in the 1969's mass uprising, in the 1971's Liberation War, in the 1990's anti-autocratic movement is unparalleled," he said.

Mentioning that the life forces in the youth are inexhaustible, Atiur Rahman said that youth should have to try to establish their own endeavours. "They must have the desire to succeed. Only then will the success come."

Among others, RU pro vice-chancellor professor Ananda Kumar Saha and student adviser professor Laila Arjuman Banu spoke at the programme.
