Studying in US: University Fair in city Saturday

Update:

Bangladeshi students, interested to study in the US, will get an opportunity to meet and interact with representatives of 26 American universities at a fair on Saturday, reports UNB.

US embassy's EducationUSA Student Advising Center will host the 'South Asia Fall Tour 2019 University Fair' at a city hotel.

Representatives of Drew University, George Mason University, Hofstra University, NYU Tandon School of Engineering, University of Houston-Victoria, and University of South Florida, among others, will participate in it.

The 2019 Fall Tour will begin in Bangladesh before continuing to Nepal and other South Asian countries throughout September.

The South Asia Fall Tour 2019 presents a unique opportunity for students to interact face-to-face with representatives from 14 US universities as well as a consortium representing 12 other universities, according to US Embassy in Dhaka.

The 26 US universities to be represented at the fair are accredited institutions recognised by EducationUSA, part of the US Department of State.

During the fair, which is free and open to all, students will have the chance to discuss higher education opportunities, areas of studies and programmes, and financial aid opportunities - all in one place.

The fair will also include an informational session about the US student visa process, a discussion on higher education studies in the US, and a bilingual panel event with Bangladeshi alumni of US universities sharing their experiences.

The South Asia Fall Tour 2019 aims to facilitate international student access to US higher education institutions by bringing together US universities committed to internationalisation with qualified, motivated, and well-prepared students from the local community.

EducationUSA is a US Department of State network of over 425 international student advising centres in 178 countries.

The network promotes US higher education to students around the world by offering accurate, comprehensive, and current information about opportunities to study at accredited institutions in the United States.

EducationUSA also provides services to the US higher education community to help institutional leaders meet their recruitment and campus internationalisation goals.

EducationUSA advising services and reference materials are available across Bangladesh at the American Center at the US Embassy in Dhaka, the Edward M Kennedy Center for Public Service and the Arts in Dhanmondi, and the American Corner in Chittagong.

EducationUSA reference libraries and remote advising services are also accessible at the American Corners in Khulna, Sylhet, and Rajshahi.

All of EducationUSA's services are free of charge.
