39th BCS: 4,443 physicians appointed

The joining ceremony of the newly appointed 4,443 physicians under the 39th special Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) was held on Sunday at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka.

Health and family welfare minister Zahid Maleque attended the ceremony as the chief guest with health services division’s Md Ashadul Islam in the chair.

Earlier on 19 November, the public administration ministry issued a gazette notification, appointing 4,443 physicians – 4,203 assistant surgeons and 240 assistant dental surgeons.

Another physician Suriya Yasmin said they would give their best efforts to serve the people.

“We want congenial working atmosphere. We will give our 100 percent efforts,” she added.

Speaking on the occasion, Jahangir Alam, a newly appointed physician, said they would work sincerely to help the government’s efforts to reach health services to the doorsteps of people.
