Decision on SAARC to be taken by member countries: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday said any decision whether Pakistan will be excluded from SAARC will be taken by its member countries through discussions.

“We (Bangladesh) can’t take any decision…it’ll be taken by other member countries,” she said while replying to a question over excluding Pakistan from SAARC at a press conference at Ganabhaban on her recent visit to Canada and the USA.

Replying to another question over severing diplomatic ties with Pakistan following its reactions to the trial of crimes against humanity in Bangladesh, the prime minister said, “ Pakistan was defeated during the liberation war … we’re the winning nation. They can say anything about war crimes trial…..but we’ll continue our work.”
