SUST student hacked dead

A student of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) was hacked to death by miscreants in Keane bridge area of the city early Monday.

Deceased Mehedi Al Salam is a masters student of economics department. He was an activist of Gonojagoron Mancha.

Miscreants stabbed Mehedi indiscriminately at Keane bridge area on his way to Kadamtoli bus stand for going to Dhaka around 1:00am, leaving him seriously injured, said South Surma police station sub-inspector Ripon.

On information, police rushed in and sent him to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, he added.
