Model-actor Prosun Azad, who began her glam world journey through Lux Channel i Superstar, has now turned director with a film ‘Khuhelika’.
The versatile Prosun is now staying Australia to select shooting locations for her film, ‘Khuhelika’ and also acting in another film, ‘Mrittupuri’.
In a telephone conversation with Prothom Alo, Prosun talks about her busy schedule, ongoing plays and more.
Tell us something about your role in ‘Jol Jyotsna’ which has just been aired on ntv on Sunday?
I am playing the role of Bakul who is a girl from the Haor (water body) area. Her father is the manager of a Ghetugaan group. The play forwards narrating a romantic story between Bakul and a boy.
Have you ever landed into a role like this?
I played a village girl earlier. However, this time I was fishing and walking around on the muddy water for portraying Bakul. I had to stay in the Haor areas for three days and it was really troublesome for me. I fell down on the mud and in the water several times. I had to speak Haor dialect in the single-episode.
How is your experience of ‘Mrittupuri’ shoots in Australia?
I did not give a second thought when I was offered the film. However, I realised it was not an easy cake to portray the role of a night club dancer in the ‘Mrittupuri’. I had to shoot with some professional dancers at a night club in Sydney. It was also difficult for me.
Rumours say you are directing a film yourself.
Yes. I do not have any prior experience directing a film. I have come to Australia to select shooting locations for my upcoming directorial project, ‘Khuhelika’. I hope to start the shooting of the film from 15 January. Ahadur Rahman has composed the screenplay of the film.
