Hundreds of passengers have been suffering as a 15-kilometre-long tailback was created on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Daudkandi upazila since Thursday morning, reports UNB.
The tailback was seen stretching from Hasanpur in Daudkandi upazila to the eastern side of Meghna Bridge in Munshiganj point since the dawn due to the heavy pressure of vehicles on the highway ahead of the weekend, said Abul Kalam Azad, officer-in-charge of Daudkandi Highway police.
Besides, the vehicles moving on the highway are using one lane following the construction works on the road near Meghna Bridge, he added.
Hundreds of goods-laden trucks and passenger buses were seen stranded on the road due to the slow movement of vehicles.
