Former cabinet secretary Ali Imam Majumder has joined the Board of Trustees of the Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) as its new member, reports news agency UNB.
He joined the 89th meeting of the board on Wednesday, said a TIB press release on Thursday. Majumder was elected board member on 22 June 2016.
Majumder was appointed cabinet secretary on 6 December 2006. He retired on 28 November 2008. Earlier on 31 October 2006, he was made principal secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office. Majumder, hailing from Comilla, joined the Bangladesh Civil Service in 1977.
The Board of Trustees is the highest policymaking body of TIB. It provides leadership and guidance to the organisation’s activities.
The other TIB board members are advocate Sultana Kamal (chairperson), Selina Hossain (secretary general), Mahfuz Anam (treasurer), Tawfique Nawaz, Sayyada Ruhi Ghuznavi, M Hafizuddin Khan, ATM Shamsul Huda, Rokia Afzal Rahman, Syed Manzoorul Islam and Akbar Ali Khan.
