Malaysia authorities have stopped Bangladeshi rights activist Adilur Rahman Khan at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, barring him from entering the country.
Adilur remained stranded at the airport since Thursday morning, persons close to him in Dhaka and a few journalists in Malaysia told Prothom Alo.
Adilur Rahman Khan, secretary of Dhaka-based human rights group Odhikar, reached Kuala Lumpur from Dhaka early Thursday to attend a rights conference on abolishing death penalty.
Unlike the rumours, the Malaysian authorities have not detained him till 3pm local time, the Malaysian journalists added.
They were reportedly trying to send him back to Bangladesh by another flight.
In the past month, Malaysia barred a Singaporean rights activist, Han Hui Hui, from entering the country. Amnesty International protested the matter.
