RAB detains actress Nawshaba

Actress and model Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed has been detained by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) allegedly for spreading rumours on Facebook about attacks on demonstrating students demanding safe road.

In a text message, RAB spokesman Mufti Mahmud Khan said that the actress was detained and taken to RAB-1 office in Uttara for interrogation on Saturday night.

Nawshaba went on Facebook live around 4:00 in the afternoon and said in a 1:37 minute live video that the attackers killed two student protesters and gouged out eyes of another in the capital’s Zigatola.

The protesting students have been demanding safe road following the death of their two fellows in a road accident in the capital’s Kurmitola on 29 July.
