
The first reshuffle in the cabinet of the BNP government is about to take place. Four individuals have taken oath as new ministers in the cabinet, one of whom was previously a state minister. Additionally, two individuals have taken oath as state ministers.
Those taking oath as full ministers are BNP Standing Committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan, Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) Chairman Andaleeve Rahman Partho, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Rasheduzzaman Millat and Member of Parliament Saching Prue Jeri.
Meanwhile, those taking oath as state ministers are Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir and Member of Parliament Mohammad Shamim Kaiser Lincoln.
This evening at Bangabhaban, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was sworn in as President. Following that, he administered the oath first to the four full ministers and two state ministers.
In the impending cabinet reshuffle, Abdul Moyeen Khan, one of the senior leaders of the BNP, is likely to get charge of the Local Government Ministry, which was vacated by Mirza Fakhrul.
BJP Chairman Andaleeve Rahman Partho is to get charge of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Relevant sources indicate that Zahir Uddin Swapon, who is currently serving as the Minister for the Information Ministry, is becoming an adviser to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Multiple high-level government sources state that BNP Executive Committee member Saching Prue Jeri is becoming the Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs. Meanwhile, Shamim Kaiser Lincoln is set to get charge as the State Minister for the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Rasheduzzaman Millat, who took oath as a full minister today, is becoming the Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism. The current minister of this ministry, Afroza Khanam (Rita), may be given charge of another ministry.
