The former skipper of Bangladesh cricket team, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, has been made the youth and sports affairs secretary of ruling party Awami-League (AL).
He is the lawmaker of the party from Narail-2 constituency.
The decision was taken at the meeting of AL presidium members at Gana Bhabon on Monday night with prime minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Following the meeting, the AL general secretary Obaidul Quader confirmed the matter.
Obaidul Quader said, "Among the vacant posts of the AL executive body, Mashrafe Mortaza has been made the youth and sports affairs secretary in today’s meeting. The president of the party, Sheikh Hasina, has been tasked with picking up the party leader for the remaining posts."
