The Sinopharm vaccine will start being given to people all over the country from Monday. And from Tuesday, the Moderna vaccine will be given in 12 city corporation areas of the country.
The Directorate General Health Services (DGHS) made this announcement today, Sunday.
DGHS said that at present the Pfizer vaccine is being administered to expatriates in seven centres of Dhaka city.
From Tuesday the expatriates will be able to get the Moderna jab in the all the city corporations of the country, including Dhaka. They will not need to come to Dhaka for the shot. The general public will also be able to avail the Moderna vaccine.
Director of the DGHS’ maternal and child health programme, Shamsul Huq, said those who have received the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine but not the second, will have to wait a little longer. He said the AstraZeneca vaccine may arrive in July or August.
