Dada Match Factory to be reopened soon: Amu

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu on Friday said Dada Match Factory at the city’s Rupsha industrial belt, which was shutdown on August 18, 2010, will be reopened soon.

The Industries Ministry has already initiated the legal procedures as per the Prime Minister’s pledge to reopen the factory, he said while addressing a meeting organised by the factory’s workers on its premises.

Amu said the government has recently made some progress in industrialisation by reopening laid down factories. “The industrial sector must be given more importance to transform the country into a middle-income one by 2021,” he added.

The meeting was also addressed by members of parliament Begum Monnujan Sufian, Talukder Abdul Khaleque, Mostafa Rashidi Suja and Muhammad Mizanur Rahman and Dada Match Workers’ Union president M Delwar Hossain Dilkhosh.
