Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) Tuesday advised the maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra to hoist local cautionary signal number three as a low is persisting over northwest Bay and adjoining Bangladesh-west Bengal coast, reports BSS.
"Under the influence of the low over the northwest Bay and adjoining Bangladesh-West Bengal coast, squally weather is likely to occur over the maritime ports, the North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh," a Met Office said in a weather bulletin.
All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice, it added.
