A three-day festival will begin on Wednesday afternoon at Lalon Akhra in Chheuria village marking the 129th death anniversary of legendry Baul Lalon Shah, reports UNB.
The Lalon Academy, in association with the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, is organising the event.
Hundreds of admirers from home and abroad have already gathered at the Akhra.
The festival will have Sadhur Haat, fair, discussion and singing of Baul songs by artistes of Lalon Academy.
Local parliament member Mahbubul Alam Hanif of Kushtia-3 constituency will inaugurate the three-day festival in the afternoon.
Authorities arranged tight security to ensure safety of the devotees.
Lalon Shah was a Baul, a mystic, a songwriter, singer, social reformer and secular thinker. He has become an icon of religious tolerance and secularism in Bengali culture.
