Midday Escapades

Two hijol trees stand right next to a house, serving as a playground for the children. Sometimes they hang from the branches. At other times, they climb up the trees and scramble back down moments later. The trees have become their own little world of play. They indulge in such spirited fun in the afternoon. The photographs were recently taken by Anis Mahmud in Sorishakandi village in Sylhet Sadar.

A carefree child hanging upside down, holding tight to a tree branch.
One sits quietly on a perch, while another climbs higher into the leafy canopy.
Full of boundless joy, leaping from one green bough to the next.
Two little ones hold on tight, as another gently makes his way back down to the ground.
One stands tall among the branches, while another swings freely in the breeze.

Catching a breath, resting softly on a sunlit branch.
