Journeyman giant striker Carlo Costly goes to his first World Cup finals 30 years after his father turned out for Honduras at the 1982 tournament in Spain, which ended just a week before the smiley goal-getter was born.
His parents split when he was 14 years old and he moved to Mexico City where he buried himself in the game working his way up through regional leagues until a return to Honduras in 2004, signing for his dad's old club CD Platense.
After three seasons there and a first international call-up he was to enjoy spells in Poland, England, Romania, Mexico again, Greece, China and the USA.
Now back home he has more than 30 international goals and helped Honduras to the Gold Cup semi-finals twice.
