Chancellor Angela Merkel, who will travel to Brazil to cheer on Germany in the World Cup final, backed the national team's chances Thursday, saying a win was "feasible."
Asked by reporters for her tip for Sunday's final against Argentina, Merkel predicted victory for Germany, which qualified after crushing Brazil 7-1.
Merkel said she thought the German side had the concentration needed to bring home the trophy.
"My tip is, it's feasible," she said at a press conference.
Merkel, a well-known football fan who is often photographed in the stands celebrating German goals with her arms aloft, will travel with President Joachim Gauck to watch the final in Rio de Janeiro.
Germany hope to end their 24-year wait for a fourth World Cup title.
