Sylhet Sixers made a respectable total of 127 runs at the loss of eight wickets at the end of their stipulated 20 overs against Comilla Victorians in the third match of the Bangladesh Premier League on Sunday.
Sixers’ West Indies recruit Nicholas Pooran scored 41 runs off 26 balls with the help of two 6s and five 4s.
Sylhet lost half of their side in the first 10 overs of their innings due to some good performance of the Victorians as a bowling unit.
Mohammad Saifuddin, Mohammad Shahid and Mahedi Hasan picked up two wickets each while Shahid Afridi took one.
Alok Kapali (19 off 20) and Afif Hossain (19 off 16) contributed with Pooran in what, otherwise, could have been a shambolic batting performance of Sylhet.
Earlier, Victorians skipper Steven Smith won the toss invited Sylhet to bat first at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Sixers skipper David Warner (14 off 13) made a blazing start hitting three 4s in an over of Mahedi Hasan but was fallen victim to run-out in the next over due to a misunderstanding with his partner Towhid Hridoy (8 off 24).
