Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will serve a notice to head coach Russell Domingo to clarify his statements that cricketers are subjected to scolding and shouting round the clock.
He came up with this disclosure in an interview with Prothom Alo that was published on Wednesday. The cricket operations chairman of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Jalal Yunus confirmed the matter.
At his office, Jalal Yunush told the newsmen that “I have informed the matter to the [board] president (Nazmul Hassan). He (Domingo) should be served notice to clarify his claims. We will look into the matter. Then the decision would be made about him.”
Refuting the allegation that cricketers are scolded, he said, "I don’t even talk to the cricketers during the series. Let me know first whether he indicated it to me or someone else. However, it is not a positive matter. He will have to clarify his statements. The languages he used [that cricketers are subjected to rebuking] are objectionable."
Earlier, BCB removed Domingo from the T20 format ahead of two major tournaments – Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. He, however, has been retained for the Test and ODI teams.
Newly appointed technical consultant Sridharan Sriram will provide all the plans for the T20 team, said BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon, adding that Sriram's role is not defined as T20 head coach.
